BACKGROUND

The Speciality Compound division of TotalEnergies approached the Polymer Processing Research Centre, AMIC in the late 1990s to begin a 25-year collaboration on process and product development that continues to this day.  

CHALLENGE

This collaboration was focussed on supporting  the development of speciality rotational moulding compounds for novel and innovative rotomoulded fuel containment solutions. In particular, TPSeal® Technology: for low permeation fuel tanks, foams, structural, technical and design parts. 

INNOVATION

We worked directly with TotalEnergies to process and optimise the development of novel multi-layer material rotomoulded solutions. This development included extensive processing trials using AMIC in-house full scale rotational moulding equipment as well as AMIC assisted TotalEnergies customers trails in USA, Europe and Asia.   

RESULT

TPSeal® Technology is currently marketed and sold around the world.
